1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of RecoupUnit ("RecoupUnit," "we," "us") handles personal information when you visit our website or use our web application (the "Service"). The Service is intended to help self-storage operators prepare notices under Texas Property Code Chapter 59. It is intended for business use and is not directed at consumers or children.
2. Two kinds of information
Customer account information is about you and your staff, the people who use RecoupUnit. For this information, we decide how it is used.
Tenant and case information is what you enter about delinquent tenants and their units. For this information, we act as your service provider. We process it only on your behalf to run the Service, and you decide what to enter. You are responsible for having the right to enter it.
3. What we collect
From you, when you sign up and use the Service
- Name, business name, email address, phone number, and password. If you request early access, we collect the email address you submit and the time of the request.
- Facility details, such as name and address.
- Billing details needed to manage a paid subscription. Stripe handles card payments, and RecoupUnit does not store full card numbers.
- Messages you send us, such as support requests.
Tenant and case information you enter
- Tenant name, unit number, amount owed, late fees, and other case details you provide.
- Documents generated and timestamped steps in each case.
Collected automatically
- Device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and login activity that our hosting and authentication providers may process.
- Browser storage and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and run the Service.
The current preview does not intentionally use advertising cookies or pixels. This section will be updated before any analytics or advertising technology is introduced.
4. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including generating documents and keeping case records.
- To create and manage accounts, process subscription payments through Stripe, and send receipts.
- To respond to support requests and send service messages, such as security or billing notices and changes to our terms.
- To understand how the Service is used and improve it.
- To detect misuse, protect our rights, and meet legal obligations.
- To send product updates where permitted, which you can opt out of at any time.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use tenant information for advertising or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Who we share information with
- Service providers. Supabase currently provides authentication and database services for invited workspaces. Additional hosting, payment, email, or analytics providers will be identified here before those services are used.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information where we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or needed to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Service.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor this policy or give notice of a material change.
- With your direction. For example, if you ask us to share information with another party.
6. Data location
Our providers may process data in the United States and other locations where they operate. The production hosting region and any terms governing international or Canadian transfers will be confirmed before commercial launch.
7. How long we keep information
We keep account information while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. The final export period and deletion schedule after cancellation will be confirmed before paid launch and aligned with the Terms of Service. We may retain information for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution reasons, and backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. Our production security representations will be finalized after vendor and infrastructure review. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will provide notice as required by law.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, and deletion. You can view and update certain information in the Service. Account Settings lets you export your workspace or permanently delete your login and stored account data. You may also contact us for assistance.
- Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link or contact us.
- Browser storage and cookies. You can control these through browser settings, though the Service may not work properly without essential storage.
- Tenants. If you are a tenant and want to access or correct information about you, contact the storage operator that entered it because that operator controls the information. If you contact us, we will direct the request to the relevant operator where we can.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We will respond to valid requests as required. Specific rights and response timelines will be confirmed through legal review.
10. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For material changes, we intend to provide notice by email or in the Service before they take effect. The “Last updated” date above shows when this draft was most recently revised.
